Berry starts the conversation about Mental Health Awareness Week

On Wednesday 15th May, Berry hosted a buffet lunch with tea and cake at both of its office premises in Salisbury and Whiteley in order to dedicate some time for staff to think about Mental Health Awareness Week.

Conversation cards were used as prompts to start discussions about everything from people’s earliest memories, to their favourite biscuits, to ways in which to improve mental health.

Mental Health Awareness Week runs from 13th to 19th May and provides a platform for people to be able to more openly discuss mental health and how we can strike the right work/life balance. Follow #mentalhealthawarenessweek for more information.

In conjunction with Berry’s focus on employee mental health, the Company this week was pleased to announce a new staff benefits package which gives employees access to a range of complimentary services including:

  • Legal and financial advice
  • Access to online GP appointments
  • Access to an online wellness hub
  • Retail and entertainment discounts

Upon launching this new range of employee benefits Berry HR Manager Kerry Hill said:

“At Berry we feel it’s really important that staff are well supported in both the office and at home. We understand that our employees can only reach their full potential when the right work/life balance is struck. Berry has seen huge growth in the past year and is conscious of not losing touch with the wellbeing of our workforce.”

Earlier this year, Berry was named as a Sunday Times Top 100 Company to Work For due to ‘extraordinary levels of staff engagement’. It is hoped that by providing a strong focus on staff wellbeing and mental health staff will continue to find the right work/life balance as the Company goes through a period of strong growth.
